I’ve gotten some great deals, but I’ll just share my most recent for now.

What I got:
2 x Maybelline Age Rewind foundation $2.38 (regularly $7.99)
2 x Revlon Age Defying foundation $2.98 (regularly $9.99)
1 x L’Oreil Preference hair color double pack $5.98 (regularly $11.99)

Coupons used:
2 x $2.00/1 Maybelline foundation product
2 x $2.00/1 Revlon cosmetics product (Target Q)
1 x $5.00/2 L’Oreil hair color (could use this since each hair color box had its own barcode)

Total before coupons = $16.70
Total coupon savings = $9.00

Total amount OOP = $3.70
% saved = 78%

Such a great deal since I would have paid $44.95 regular price and with no coupons! So the actual percent I saved was 92%! Yay!

Live. Love. Coupon

Haven't had a deal like this in AGES!!

Yesterday my mm and I were driving around killing some time, so we decided to stop in at a CVS we happened to come across. We’d never been there before, so we decided to see if they had any good clearance items. Nothing too good on clearance, but we did come across a CRAZY deal on Wisk. I scoured the paper looking for deals on Wisk this week since our coupons are expiring on Sunday, and didn’t find anything. So you can imagine our surprise when we found that Wisk was BOGO at CVS!!

Transaction:

6 sets (12 total bottles) of Wisk detergent @ $8.99 / set = $53.94

Coupons Used:

1 x $10/$50 purchase CVS coupon

1 x $5/$25 purchase CVS coupon

1 x $4/$20 purchase CVS coupon

12 x $2/1 Wisk detergent

Total Before Coupons = $53.94

Total After Coupons = $9.74 + $0.59 (tax) = $10.33

Cost / Bottle = $0.86

Cost / Load = $0.03

Total savings = $95.14

Needless to say that we won’t be needing to buy any soap for a little while. We’ll be going back for a few more bottles tomorrow before the sale ends and the coupons expires.

I finally have some free time to come back to blogging. This summer has been crazier than I thought it would be. I’m working full time and going to summer school, so time is a hot commodity these days… My mom and I have been doing some couponing here and there, but not nearly as much as we used to do. One reason is that the family is in the process of moving, and we simply have so much stuff to pack that we eased up on the buying for now. Also, the coupons coming out these days aren’t as good as they used to be, so we aren’t seeing too many good deals… :(

Anyway, back to our deal we found today. Since today is the last day of the month, we had a bunch of coupons expiring. So we checked the ads, gathered our coupons, and hit the stores. We got some deals at Wegmans and Target, but the best deals were found at Rite Aid today. So here’s the breakdown:

Transactions #1:

2 x Gilette Fusion ProGlide Razor @ $9.99 each = 19.98

1 x Purex Liquid Laundry Detergent @ 1.99

Coupons used:

2 x $4.00/1 ProGlide Razor

Total before coupons = $23.28

Total After coupons = $15.27

+UP rewards received = $11.00

Transaction #2:

1 x Dove Women’s deodorant @ $1.99

2 x Axe Shower Gel @ 4.50 each = $9.00

1 x Dove Ment’s deodorant stick @ $4.31 (10% discount)

2 x Axe Deodorant Spray @ 4.50 each = $9.00

1 x Nivea Women’s Body Wash @ $3.99

1 x Bengay Cream @ $4.94 (10% discount)

Coupons used:

1 x Buy Women’s deo, get Men’s Dove Deodorant FREE = $1.99 (just noticed that the cashier took off the women’s deodorant price instead of the men’s deodorant price…)

1 x BOGO Axe Shower Gel = $4.50

1 x BOGO Axe Deodorant = $4.50

1 x $3.00/1 Bengay product

1 x $2.00/1 Bengay product (Rite Aid in ad coupon)

1 x $2.00/1 Nivea Women’s Body Wash

$11.00 +UP rewards (from Transaction #1)

Total before coupons= $33.23

Total after coupons = $5.20 (including tax)

(Total would have been less had the cashier taken off the correct amount for the deodorant)

Transaction #3: (at a different Rite Aid)

4 x Bic Soleil razors @ $4.99 each = $19.96

1 x Bengay cream @ $4.94 (10% discount)

Coupons used:
4 x $3.00/1 Bic Soleil product

1 x $3.00/1 Bengay product

1 x $2.00/1 Bengay product (Rite Aid in ad coupon)

Total before coupons = $24.90

Total after coupons = $8.20 (including tax)

+UP Rewards received = $4.00

Total initial price for all transactions = $81.41

Total OOP for all transactions = $28.67

Percent savings = 65%

+UP Rewards earned = $4.00

Overall, we did good. I think we may go back for more Bic razors later in the week since I’m running low on my stash of razors.

Quick stop at Wegmans

Okay, so I know I haven’t posted in a while, but I’m going to try and post a few times a week to keep you all updated :)

Tonight my mom and I made a quick trip to Wegmans because we were out of Swiss tea and needed to restock our supply. But of course, we couldn’t just go in for the tea and not come out with extra things (that’s just not our style haha). So here’s what we got:

Transaction #1:

4 x Swiss Sweet Tea @ $1.49 each = $5.96

Hey readers (not sure how many of you are out there…),

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past month or so. I’ve been super slammed with school. But Friday was the last day of finals, so I’m officially DONE until August. I will be starting my summer internship a week from tomorrow and one summer class on the 23rd, but life will be relatively chill (compared to the overflowing course load of a college super senior). So I’ll be posting much more frequently from now on :)

Stay tuned for some awesome savings!

Live.Laugh.Coupon :)

A Quick Trip to Walmart

Wow! It’s been a while since my last post. School’s been pretty hectic, so I’ve been focusing on that recently. But luckily next weeks’ my last week of classes and finals week is after that, and then I’m done for the semester.

I did want to make a quick post about our trip to Walmart earlier this evening. So here’s the breakdown of what we got:

3 x Nivea Women’s Body Wash @ $3.00 each = $9.00

3 x Reach Floss @ $0.88 each = $2.64

2 x Snickers Easter Candy Eggs @ $1.00 each = $2.00

The coupons we used:

3 x $3/1 Nivea Women’s Body Wash

3 x $1/1 Reach Floss

1 x $1/2 Mars Easter Candy Items

Total Before Coupons = $13.64 + $0.54 (tax)

Total After Coupons = $$0.64 + $0.54 (tax) = $1.18 OOP

I was really banking on my total being under $1.00, but that darn PA sales tax gets me every time haha. Oh well, at least I got the body wash and floss for FREE :)

No More Rack

No More Rack:
If you’re not a member of No More Rack, now’s the time to join. So my mom and I went perusing around town looking for some last minute deals for the week. We got some great deals at Walmart, but that’s not what this post is about. This is about RITE AID!! We initially went to RA to check if they got the Purex Crystals fabric softener in stock (they’ve been out of it all week…needless to say there’s some crazy coupon ladies in my area…haha). They didn’t have the fabric softener, but they did have the 3-in-1 sheets. And that’s where this deal starts.

A few weeks ago, I bought some coupons on eBay for $3.00/1 Purex 3-in-1 sheets or Purex with Zout. We used a few of these last week in MD, but we still had 8 left over. I was worried we wouldn’t be able to use them all because they were expiring today. So as we were walking the aisles of RA, we noticed that one of the employees was already changing the sale tags from this week to next week, including one for BOGO on the Purex 3-in-1 sheets. So my mom asked him if those tags were for next week, and he said yes and that they had to honor next week’s price because if they didn’t, it would be false advertising. Long story short here’s what we got:

8 x Purex 3-in-1 sheets @ BOGO - $4.99/2 (this week’s sale price) = $19.96

2 x Multigrain Cheerios @ $2.50 each = $5.00

Coupons we used:

8 x $3.00/1 Purex 3-in-1 sheets

Total before coupons = $24.96

Total after coupons = $0.96 (no tax)

Plus I got an unanticipated $5 +UP reward that apparently came from the Purex purchase.

I LOVE Rite Aid! They always have awesome deals, and their employees always know what’s going on (whether it’s the coupon policy or sale policy).

I love SWAGBUCKS!! So my mom and I planned a trip down under (Maryland to be exact) to check out some of the stores we don’t have up here in PA. I spent the first two days of the week planning the route, checking ads online, and gathering coupons, and this morning we headed south with our trusty coupon binder, GPS, and road trip snacks. The trip took about 2 hours.

Our first stop was Fredrick, where we visited Giant Eagle. Here’s the breakdown of what we got:

7 x Almond Breeze Milk @ $1.66 each = $11.67

6 x Purex 3-in-1 Sheets @ $2.75 each (on clearance) = $16.50

Sweet Onions @ $0.99 / lb = $2.65 (they’re never this cheap where we live)

Coupons used:

7 x $1.00/1 Almond Breeze Milk

6 x $3.00/1 Purex 3-in-1 Sheets

Total Before Coupons = $30.82

Total After Coupons = $5.82 + $0.99 tax = $6.81

Then we went to Ikea-Baltimore (the initial reason for making frequent trips to Maryland) because they have 50% off of the As-Is store every Wednesday. Was kind of disappointed with the selection today, but I did manage to get a cute striped duvet cover for $5.00, instead of $20.00.

Our next stop was Whole Foods in Baltimore. I was so excited to go to Whole Foods because I heard so many good stories about it. The only health food store in our area is very small and only carries a limited about of goods, so Whole Foods was definitely a treat for us. I was disappointed that they were out of Popchips (I swear I’m addicted to those chips) and didn’t carry the type of bread my dad eats. But we did manage to get some nice organic fruit and salad greens and a few other things.

So after Whole Foods, we went to Glen Burnie to go to Shop Rite. This was probably my favorite stop of the day. The store was huge! The closest thing we have to Shop Rite is Wegmans, but not nearly as big as Shop Rite. We spent at least and hour and a half in there just browsing all of the aisles. Here’s the breakdown of what we got:

«a detailed list of items and coupons used is coming…… »

On the way home we stopped at Giant Eagle again to see if they had any more of the Purex sheets left. Luckily they had a bunch left, so we got 8 more packs. But since each pack produced an overage of $0.25 after the coupon, we had to find filler items. So in the end we got:

8 x Purex 3-in-1 sheets @ $2.75 each = $22.00

2 x Dreamfields Pasta @ $2.00 each = $4.00

1 x Uncle Bens Brown Rice @ $1.50

Coupons used:

8 x $3.00/1 Purex 3-in-1 sheets

2 x $1.00/1 Dreamfields Pasta

1 x $0.75/1 Uncle Bens Rice (doubled to $1.50)

Total Before Coupons: $27.50

Total After Coupons: $0.00 + $1.32 tax = $1.32

So all in all it was a really great trip. I had so much fun, but then again anytime I hang out with my mom, we have an awesome time! Now I just need to find a spot for all of this laundry soap…haha :)

This is the start of our stockpile. Only contains laundry supplies (and only about half of what we actually have…haha). It’s not the best picture (had to be taken at a weird angle since it’s on a shelf that leads to the basement), but my mom was so excited, so I just had to post it. Stay tuned for more pics of our stockpile :)

Saturday Sweep = Awesome CVS Haul!

So it’s Saturday! And you know what that means…Saturday Sweep!!! This week was a bit different though. I was sick all week, so today was basically the first trip to most of the stores. If you participate in frugal shopping, you know how frustrating it is to try and find items on Saturday afternoon. Three words: Out Of Stock!! So needless to say I got a lot of rain checks. But even though most stores weren’t stocked today, I did manage to get some pretty great deals at CVS.

Trip Breakdown:

2 x Mentos Mints @ $0.50 each = $1.00

1 x Sparkle Paper Towels 8 pack = $5.00

1 x Wisk Laundry Detergent (My store was out of Purex, so they were substituting Wisk for the same price) = $1.99

3 x Method Laundry Detergent (clearanced about 75%) @ $2.25 each = $6.75

1 x CoverGirl foundation compact = $1.67

Coupons I used:

2 x $0.50/1 Mentos Mints

1 x $1.00/1 Wisk Detergent

3 x $2.00/1 Method Detergent

1 x $1.00/1 CoverGirl product

Total Before Coupons = $16.41

Total After Coupons = $7.41

Total OOP = $7.41 - $3.79 ECB (from last week) = $3.62 (no tax)

I’d say that was pretty good considering I paid less than the paper towels would have cost.

My favorite "frugal" sites

No savings stories today. But we had a snow storm last night, so my school didn’t open until 11 a.m. so my first class was cancelled anyway. After sleeping / lounging for most of the day, I decided I needed to get out of the house for a while. So my mom (who had a legit snow day) and I went to Target to check out some of the deals I read about yesterday.

A few days ago, Target posted a bunch of new coupons on their site. There are some incredible deals to be had, including a bunch of coupons for their store brand, Up & Up.

2 x Up & Up Cotton Swabs @ $1.42 = $2.84

Coupons I used:

2 x $1.00/1 Finish Quantum

2 x $1.50/1 Finish Quantum (Target Coupon)

I’m hoping to get more Dentene and Finish before the week is over.

It's like you read my mind...

It’s that time of year again: when the weather plays tricks on my body. It has been jumping from warm to cold for the past week, so needless to say I got sick (since Friday to be exact). So I was very excited to see that Rite Aid was going to have some of my favorite “sick” items on sale this week. It’s almost like they knew I was going to need cough drops and vapor baby wash (I swear by this stuff, it opens up my sinuses so quickly) this week. I didn’t get to RA as early as I did last week, partly due to the sickness, but also because I figured the deals I was looking for weren’t being sought after by a lot of people.

So here’s the breakdown:

4 x Hall’s Cough Drops @ $1.50 each = $6.00

3 x Johnson & Johnson Baby Vapor Bath @ $2.99 each = $8.97

Sucrets Throat Drops $2.99

Coupons I used:

2 x $1.00/2 Halls Cough Drops

3 x $1.00/1 Johnson & Johnson Baby Item

1 x $1.50/1 Sucrets Throat Drops

Total Before Coupons: $17.96

Total After Coupons: $5.46 + $0.18 tax = $5.64

Total +UP Rewards Earned: $10.00 (Halls: $2, Sucrets: $2, J&J: $6)

I’m already planning on getting more vapor bath later in the week since I can never find it for a good price when I need it. I’ll probably also get some more cough drops.

Another great CVS trip :)

Today is Saturday so it was time to check the ads for the end of the week sweep. Basically every Saturday I take a last look at all of the drug store ads for the week and make a list of anything I forgot to buy during the week. Today’s week-end trip took me to CVS. I had to restock my Vitamin Water stash since they go for about $1.75 on campus, which is just too much to pay for one bottle. CVS had them on sale for $1.00 with a $1 ECB when you buy 3 bottles. But of course I can never leave CVS with just the items on my list because they always have great stuff on clearance. So here’s how everything went down:

I bought:

10 x Vitamin Water @ $1.00 each = $10.00

2 x Crest Sensitive toothpaste @ 2.74 each = $5.48

Aveeno Styling gel = $2.12

Aquafresh toothpaste = $1.99

I used:

$2 off $10 CVS coupon

$2/10 Vitamin water

$1.50/1 Aveeno hair care

2 x $1/1 Crest toothpaste

$2/1 Aquafresh toothpaste

2 x $5 EBC (from last week)

Total before coupons = $19.59

Total after coupons / ECBs = $0.09 + $0.02 tax = $0.11

I also walked out with a $1 ECB from the Vitamin Water

So wait...I was paid to buy deodorant...SWEET!!

I was super excited when I found a few weeks ago that Rite Aid was going to have Dove deodorant for FREE (calculation below) this week! Since I saw the deal a few weeks in advance (thanks to iheartriteaid dot com), I had the chance to buy some $2/1 deodorant coupons on eBay. I ended up buying 20 for around $3.50 shipped.

So this morning I went out early to scour the five Rite Aids in my area. The first store was completely out of deodorant at 9:30. Apparently someone had come in right when the store opened and cleared the shelf (there’s no limit printed in the ad). Luckily the manager was nice enough to give both me and my mom a rain check for two deodorants each.

We went to three other Rite Aids, and luckily each of them had a few in stock. At the end of the morning I got 12 free sticks of deodorant and $12 worth of +UP Rewards. Here’s how I did this:

12 x Dove Deodorant @ $2.00 each

12 x $2/1 Dove deodorant coupon

Final Cost = FREE

Bonus: $2 +UP Reward for 2 deodorants = 6 * $2.00 = $12.00 in +UP Rewards

I still have a few more coupons to use. I think I’ll be using them next week since Wags will have the Dove deodorant on sale for $1.99. Thus I’ll be getting the rest for free as well.

Looks like I won’t be needing deodorant for a long while…haha

I LOVE CVS (not that you didn't already know that...haha)!!!

So over the past few weeks I’ve been shopping at CVS more and more. I never knew how many awesome deals I’ve been missing out on. I always thought CVS was so expensive since they’re a drug store, and that the grocery store had the best deals. But boy was I wrong!

For example, today I spent around $7 and actually made $15. So I netted about 8 bucks! Here’s how I did it:

Bought:

3 x Garnier Herbashine Hair Color @ $7 each

Used:

$5 off $15 CVS bonus coupon

3 x $3/1 Garnier Herbashine

So that’s the $7 OOP

CVS is running a special this week that when you spend $20+ on Garnier products, you get a $10 ECB. Also, I’m a member of the beauty club, and today’s purchase put me over $50 spent on beauty products. So I got an extra $5 ECB from the Beauty Club. I had no idea that I had already accumulated $50 (of course I didn’t actually spend $50, probably more like $15 or $20), so the 2nd ECB was a total surprise.

It’s crazy to think that today’s the first day of the sales and I’ve already pocketed $8 from one purchase :)

An unexpected gem at CVS

Today I went to CVS to return some makeup that I bought a few days ago. But instead of leaving, my ADD tendencies led me all around the store until I eventually ended up in the makeup isle. They had TONS of makeup from all brands on clearance for 75%. In total I spent at least 45 minutes looking at all of the makeup. In the end I came out with really good stuff for almost no money.

I got:
Almay Pure Blends Liquid Foundation $2.49 (originally $9.99)
Almay Pressed Powder $3.57 (originally $14.29)
Almay Finishing Powder $3.57 (originally $14.29)
Sally Hansen Nail Strength Treatment $2.67 (originally $10.49)
Sally Hansen travel tweezers $1.25 (originally $4.99)
Sally Hansen Insta-dry polish $1.37 (originally $5.49)
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails polish $0.75 (originally $2.99)

I used:
$5 off $15 CVS coupon (made sure to use this one first…thanks KCL!!)
3 x $2/1 Almay product
$1/2 Sally Hansen nail polish
$1/1 Sally Hansen Nail treatment
$1/1 Sally Hansen product

Total OOP: $1.72

The guy that rang us up was shocked when he told us the final price. The few people in the store were looking at us as we paid…I felt like a real coupon lady lol. I came home and told my dad and he couldn’t believe it. I think he gets more and more on board with coupons every day haha

Snow Day = Big Savings Day!

So as most of you know, most of the country is being pelted with various forms of winter precipitation. My neck of the woods is no different. We got some snow, but a lot of ice. So today I took my own personal snow day because there was no way I could safely drive an hour on the slick, untreated roads. So after finishing up some homework that needed to be submitted electronically, I spent the rest of the day organizing coupons.

I went to my favorite coupon sites: www.thekrazycouponlady.com and www.moneysavingmaineac.com to scope out any new deals for today. I found some really good deals at Rite Aid, many of which were for FREE products.

So when the weather cleared up a bit, my mom and I attempted to venture to Rite Aid. We were in the store for a while trying to find everything on my list, but finally found it all. When it was all said and done, we walked out with:

Transaction#1:

2 Finish Quantumatic Kits @ $3.99 each = $7.98

1 Colgate Total Toothpaste $2.99

I used:

2 $3/1 Finish Quantumatic Kits

2 $1/1 Finish Quantumatic Kits (Rite Aid coupon)

1 $1/1 Colgate Total Toothpaste

Total after coupons $1.97 + $0.04 tax, $2.01. I also got $2 in +UP Rewards.

Transaction #2:

1 Colgate Total Toothpaste $2.99

1 Viactiv Raspberry Calcium Chews $6.99

I used:

1 $1/1 Colgate Toothpaste

1 $3/1 Viactiv product

1 $2/1 Rite Aid Video Credits

$2 Wellness + coupon from above transaction

Total after coupons $1.98, no tax. I also got $5 in +UP Rewards.

Transaction #3:

2 Axe Body Sprays @ $4.50 each = $9.00

1 Colgate Total Toothpaste $2.99

I used:

1 BOGO Axe Deodorant (the lady actually took off the regular price of the Axe, which is $5.79 instead of the $4.50 sale price…works for me haha)

1 $1/1 Colgate Total Toothpaste

2 $1/1 Rite Aid Video Credits

$2 Wellness + coupon from above transaction

Total after coupons $1.20 + 0.02 tax = $1.22. I also got $5 in +UP Rewards.

Final total for all transactions $2.01 + 1.98 + $1.20 = $5.19, and I left the store with $8 in +UP Rewards.

I’d say this was a very successful trip considering I paid less than one Axe body spray at regular price.
